Love begins in the world of if ~ Ogami's smoulder did it

I’m currently watching ‘Love Begins in the World of If’, and Ogami's face card is so... devastating. There are certain faces that I'm super responsive to, and his is just—my type. His whole aura, posture, and gaze is out of this world. Those dark brooding almond shaped eyes, the strong sharp brows, the lopsided smile with a flash of dimple, the jaw, the lips. Don’t even get me started on how they styled him - he looks like a whole snack. No, a whole buffet of decadent man who is allowed to ruin me if only for a few hours. I must say though, I think I love chirpy, cheerful Ogami from the other world as well as this more stoic version of him. Which means, that like Kano-kun, I’m a sucker for Obama in either universe.
When they were at the business trip, after work, dressed in the the yukata and Ogami had the wet hair, doing that thing where he smiles just a little bit and you get a flash of a dimple. I turned feral. I kid you not, I am addicted and a mess.
I'm pretty sure the yukata scenes towards the end of episode three, are what sold this show to me. Guys, the intent stares, the smouldering from Ogami to Kano Kun... it was like he was foreshadowing with those still intent stares like a boss. I was screaming because when he looked at Kano-kun like that, I was like, how do you not fall in love with Ogami off the bat and turn into a hot mess? In all fairness to Kano-kun, he did tumble and melt in his room after being fed chocolate by Ogami while caged against the wall. Hello. Can you have some respect for the single community? But at the same time, I love it so much. This is the kind of tension I try to find in real life and it always escapes me because I'm addicted to fictional characters. Honestly, every time I watch scenes like this, I'm so grateful. Every time I watch BL, I'm so grateful to those actors willing to take these roles because, as we all know, as much as BL is beloved and has been beloved for a long time by women in Asia, their society still has a weird connection to it because patriarchy isn’t comfortable with anything not hetronormative.
Now, in regard to Kano-kun, the second male lead, the bottom, if you will. He is very adorable and awkward. Leans more masculine than I personally prefer in the bottom. I prefer really soft, kind of genteel, maybe slightly or overly effeminate bottoms. But I just love how it tips the interactions between Ogami and Kano-kun into awkward territory but that’s mostly in the first few episodes. But it didn’t detract too much from the show in my opinion.
These last couple of years we've been getting so much BL. Then I saw a Twitter post of pictures of Ten Dance being promoted with big ass billboards by Netflix in Tokyo? I was so happy because it feels like we are living in the age of BL and I'm not even mad at it. Korea is also coming out with more small to mid-budget and high-budget BL, somehow still making it through. We're getting proper kisses now. I feel so blessed. This is my love story. I'm not even mad at it, guys, at all. I'm just so in love with this era we're in.
And I hope, especially in this cesspool era of shit that the world is in, that we get to keep this for a long time, because for me, this is my light at the end of the tunnel. I think that’s why I really appreciate these actors who embody the BL character as well as they can, who give it their all, and who take a shot and put their career on the line. I'm so grateful to them.
I highly recommend ‘Love Begins in a World of If’, most especially for the opening theme soundtrack by 36km/h and for Ogami played by Daisuke Nakagawa. Because I like my leads attractive, cold, aloof but also a mess when they’re in love. Saying that, I don't let that stop me from enjoying different stories. I'm able to go beyond the looks and give it a shot, you know? So if the story is solid, I will give it a shot.
But either way, guys, if you're not watching it yet, get your shit together and start watching it. We need to watch it live so that they green light a lot more of this stuff. I guess it does matter, even though really they should respect the fact that some people would rather not watch on air and just wait for the whole thing to finish. Although, those that watch when all the episodes are out, you lot are strong because I'm like, what do you mean, watch after it's all aired when I'm on Twitter and people be dropping the kiss scenes before I'm even done watching the fucking show? But what a great thing to come home to on a Friday after work. We've been fed so well.
